Slovenia is a place where the Alps meet the Mediterranean and the Pannonian Plain meets the Karst. The whole country is known for the variety and diversity of its landscapes. In the so-called »Heart of Europe« nature has combined various landscapes in order to create mighty alpine mountains, beautiful rivers, the crashing waters of the sea and the green forests. The Triglav National Park, which is located in the north-west of Slovenia, in the Julian Alps, is named after Triglav (2864 metres), the highest mountain of Slovenia. Lake Bled is also one of the most beautiful lakes in the park along with many waterfalls. Two most famous are the Savica and the Peričnik.
These highlands are one of the most beautiful parts of the Julian Alps and are special because of their originality and the fact that people are still living there. If you join us hiking in Bohinj, you will experience pure nature and you will definitely want to go back. You will taste sour milk and young cheese which is made from cow milk. These cows graze freely on these highlands.
